Can we have a "like" button

There are times when I've added a comment to a thread, and then someone quotes my comment in their response, and I really don't want to make a further comment, but do want to acknowledge what has been said.

Is there any way to do this, kinda like the Facebook "like" button?

What is the purpose?

If I'm reading a thread, and someone else read the thread and enjoyed it, I'm not sure if I need to be notified that they read it and enjoyed it if they've made no other contribution?
