Classified - Porsche 997 section

This section seems to have many 996's in it. Is there some way you can make people put their cars in the correct section? When I want a 996 I will look in that section. Some of the ads look like people are tryingto mislead buyers, eg pictures of the rear of the car making it harder to diferntiate between a 996 and a 997

There's a report button which you can use to make the classifieds team aware of it and they will then move them to the right section.

The problem is 996 and 997 overlap in model years. For example, 996 ended production in 2005 and 997 production began in 2004. so sometimes when a dealer sends us a feed that doesn't specify 996 or 997 we have to make our best guess as to what the model is.

If we get any key words in the title like GT3, GT2, Turbo, etc we can figure out where it belongs. When we get 2005 911 then we make the best possible guess.

Whilst we're on the subject, in the motorcycles section there's a category for "classic" Triumphs. It's full (well, all bar about 4) of modern retro Triumphs.

As classic Triumphs are about as popular a classic bike as you'll get, would it be worth having a "retro" and "classic" section. I know if I was selling a classic Triumph I wouldn't bother listing it in there as it'll get lost amongst the new ones

Quite a few actually say 996 in the title. I would have thought those could be filtered out, although they are slightly less annoying that the ones that you have to get all the way into the ad and know the cars before you can work it out

Which section are you look at, exactly? We've got 4 997 categories.

997 carrera (sadly I can't afford a turbo, GT3 etc)

Ah, yeah Carrera would be the worst one as that's the catch-all for anything not specified with GT2, GT3, Turbo, etc.

Anyway, I'm coincidentally doing a bit of work around future-proofing that category and similar (e.g. - BMW 3 series, 5 series).

Thanks for the replies Matt. It will be good if you can sort it in due course, it will make sneaky looking at car ads whilst at work easier
