iPhone woes with this forum

Probably been done before but I own an iPhone 5; not what I'd call an usual situation to be in.

Yet when I post anything of more than about ten words, the forum crashes with some 417 error. It's incredibly annoying; I have to email myself the content (after typing a long post) then copy and paste it off my Mac.

Any ideas? Using the full website used to work but not any more.

I have the same problem on an Android phone (which is annoying, as it ruins an opportunity for apple bashing ).

However I've always found that going to the "full" site, rather than the mobile, overcomes it. Hence my being able to post this.

The excruciating thing is that it sometimes works so I will type away then have yet another forum crash.

There's a bug somewhere; no other forum does it.

There's a skin for mobile devices, so the problem with the mobile site won't be fixed.

The 417 error only happens on mobile.pistonheads.com

We'll soon be migrating away from that domain so there's no intention of fixing it directly. However, it will be fixed with its replacement.

Seems strange that such a popular (and large revenue generating) website doesn't work with most smart phones though.

It does. You do need to use the Mobile Beta skin though.

I find that if you have two pages open for pistonheads in safari i have this problem... if that helps.

I cant stay logged in with my 4S.

I can log in and it tells me as such but as soon as i go to the forums i'm not logged in.
(if that makes sense)
