Posted a link to an Amazon product (just Amazon) but going back into the thread it comes up (in my post) with links to the same product elsewhere.

I don't mind, I'm just trying to work out what's going on - merging my post with an advert seems a little odd.

It's an add on running in your browser. You'll find similar on other parts of the net. Check to see what add on's you have loaded.

Only ones that might be relevant are ABP and the Amazon wishlist extension for Chrome. Both have been installed for months (if not more) and I've never seen something like this before.
