Ferrari Lambo split into their own forums

I can understand the reasoning for splitting them out into their own forums, however sub forums is a bad idea.
There are plenty of useful posts from owners of V8's v12's and classics which are read and replied to from Ferrari/Lambo owners who are now unlikely to come across the original thread/post. Where do you post about Testerossa's for example? in the V12 or the classics. Current V12's will become classics in the future and a wealth of info will be left languishing in the V12's forum when they do.
Leave it as a Ferrari forum without dividing further. Works fine with Aston as an example.

Also the market is such that owners of one marque may be considering others as well. I always thought it was pretty cool that you had Lambo, Ferrari and the others mixing together. It is also likely that the overall number of posts is going to be less due to fewer owners relative to the total PH audience.
From a casual glance at some of the original threads there seemed to be quite a few cases where owners of different supercar marques shared common experiences - e.g. dealer experience, best roads for euro trips, etc.
Even though we haven't lost anything by having seperate forums it seems like segmentation for segmentation (or advertising) sake.

Its too early for me to be sure but at the moment it is very confusing with live threads covering all these marques including McLaren all over the place and new threads being allowed in the wrong location
Do you plan to reallocate old threads or will all the old knowledge be allowed to fade away (especially as 'search' is so unsuccessful for most users)
Also as part of the restructuring can your excellent buyers guides get a more direct access (ie group heading) as most people clearly don't know they exist

I think this move was poorly thought out also. I regularly read the ferrari, lambo etc forum as I'm a lambo owner. But I'd usually click the ferrari threads while I was in there. I doubt I'll ever visit the ferrari section though... so less page views from me from now on.

imo if page impressions are the aim, its going to be a horrible horrible failure. I didn't even realise earlier that gallardo & aventador had been split too - i thought it was just ferrari and lambo. Targeting of ads isn't likely to be a factor - those forums are so low traffic I couldn't imagine anyone being interested in buying ads in them. So its down to Adwords which target according to keywords anyway, so no need to split up.
As a non-owner of either marque I'm still disappointed by this split, the original format made that section one of the best to read on the entire site and I lost hours there.

Pistonheads was better 5 years ago IMO.
I can't think of one single way in which its improved.
It seems to gets worse everytime someone fiddles with it.
The classifieds are the thing that needed more categories not the forums; how can anyone with a modicum of intelligence not see that ?
(there is still one section for Exige S2 and V6, one massive inclusive section for every porche made before the 964 etc etc..)
Editorial still never answer emails and some of the writing in the articles is just abysmal. Why did these people think that they should pursue journalism as a career ????

I just can't be arsed reading the sub forums any more, so haven't bothered visiting them since the split. I used to read the super car forum daily. I'm interested in anything super car & modern, so now I'd need to visit:
- ferrari general
- ferrari v8
- ferrari v12
- lambo general
- gallardo
- aventador
- maserati/pagani
- mclaren
