High memory & CPU usage

Recently I noticed my CPU and memory have been getting very high on certain news pages when browsing (but not the forum). It sits at 25% CPU constantly, memory can get as high as 1GB before I close it.



I noticed this morning at the bottom of an article the same images were being loaded multiple times. (note the scroll bar size...)



Is this a known issue with the site, or just something with my browser. I'm using Chrome, but the same things happen in FF

Same here, chrome is going mental on PH only! This is on OSX.

Blocking the thousands of "b.scorecardresearch" calls on a PH page load fixes it though...

Or not, it uses almost as much memory trying to call them as it does actually loading them. Currently loading the calls at roughly 20 per second here, with no sign of them stopping, up to 750 calls alone in the time it took to write this message.
