PH / Haymarket editorial policy clarification
Discussion
Well as it's a word I never knew had any bad associations it doesn't have a 'policy' and would have been used innocently.
Obviously we'd not use any phrases that could offend within any part of the site deliberately. Genuinely I've never heard of it being used in the way you describe.

Second reply here.
I've seen the term used increasingly on the site.
Not easy to search for other examples as there is a user name the same.
Before anyone jumps on the "people getting offended on other people's behalf" bandwagon; I'm not - I'm checking what the policy is so I know whether to ignore or report as and when I see it used.

Surely it is of no concern to any poster that a word is offensive? PH operates a swear filter, and provided you do not try to avoid it (even though there is no specific rule/offense of avoiding the swear filter) then the word will be displayed, or censored, as the PH team decree.
