Tracker Forum Competition

After forgetting all about this I have just been reminded by a thread in GG, was there ever any outcome to the competition? I remember looking at the PH front page every day for a couple of months after being told that it would be turned into a raffle competition there, but never saw it.

<snip>The new comp has no 'go live' date as yet, but as I say it will be a home page article when the time comes so watch out for it in the not too distant future.<snip>

No I doubt that they care, but my mild OCD demands a conclusion to this topic or I may end up snapping and going on a killing spree. I'll be sure to mention this thread during the trial.

Gwagon111 won it.

They went and installed it for him and took him to lunch in Nando's and then did photographs with a dolly bird.

And a footballer served him his chicken then Peter Stringfellow came in and was so taken aback by Gwagon's awesomeness that he got his best stripper to fellate Gwagon while some other unbelievable st happened.

I'm starting to believe that is the chosen stance, it's quite disappointing.

'The competition was a farce. We're not quite sure where we stuck the prizes, they might be in that cupboard underneath a broken kettle. We were just doing a bit of stupid advertisment without thinking it through first and just want to sweep it under the carpet without making a big issue out of it, sorry'

Would be more than an adequate response, it was just a half hearted competition on a website that amused us because of it's stupidity and was blown out of all proportion because of the childish way in which it was and is being handled.

I'll never mention it again if you send me a tracker wink

As you’ll know (but may have opinions on) at PistonHeads we do all we can to meet with the strict competition guidelines publishers must adhere to since the sorry tale of Lotus gate almost 8 years ago, and since that time we’ve given away everything from exclusive drives to £15,000 in cash to free tyres.

Recently we ran the Tracker competition mentioned here, in fact we ran it twice after failing to receive suitable entries the first time the competition was published, but on both occasions the entries were deemed not suitable for awarding a prize against, in fact the competition looked to have become something of a joke.

In the past week or so we have been discussing the matter with our competitions and database team to reach a conclusion, making sure we adhere to what is expected of us, and would like to announce that the competition will be withdrawn and closed, without a winner being selected, as no one was able to meet the qualifying entry criteria

As promoters we reserve the right to do this, and instead of re-launching this again we would rather be open and honest and start to concentrate on new competitions (keep your eye on the BMW M4) you will feel more obliged/ inclined to enter.

Thanks for your patience so far, let’s close this matter and move on. (I can be contacted in the usual way if anyone has any questions or comments)
