According to the t&c's, the following are not on:

any content that is abusive, vulgar, obscene, hateful, fraudulent, unlawful, threatening, harassing, or defamatory or which discloses private or personal matters concerning any person;

Just curious, but the misogynistic content of this thread:

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

would appear to be both 'hateful' and 'vulgar'. Or perhaps I have different standards?

Just to summarise some of the terminology used to refer to the woman who's the subject of the article:

bint
vile ugly tramp
that slag
ropey looking man woman
useless sack of sperm
that
it
horrible ugly

as well as expressions that the woman should be:

shot
put in stocks and have 'housebricks' thrown at her

so I'm guessing we could add 'threatening' too, perhaps?

There are some great posts and posters on PH, and that's why I use it.

This isn't one though, and posts like it are the reason I don't admit to many people I use this forum.

Why not sort this out? Or is 'hateful' and 'vulgar' OK, as long as it's describing certain people?

Yes, yesterday.

Of course, this isn't my site, and I'm not so sensitive that I'm 'offended' in any way. I do think it pulls down all the worthwhile content of PH, though, as well as being (as far as I can see) against the t&c's.

Just curious what the editorial line was...

I could see why some of the opinions in that thread could be seen as both 'hateful' and 'vulgar' ... but given the subject matter, I think that while they're ungentlemanly, they're also not entirely inappropriate. In other words, I don't have a problem with them in that context. Similar comments directed at someone else, possibly (probably?) I would.

Was it Bernard Manning who said "Rude is when you take your underpants off and throw them against the wall. Crude is when they stick". biggrin

Rather than trying to change PH, can you not just find a different website that you do like? There are, quite literally, a couple of them to choose from.

If it hasn't upset you, why feel the need to complain and then start further threads about it?

The girl in question behaves and says things that are just going to stir an angry reaction.

Yes some of the posts are a bit offensive, but only really to the individual involved.

I don't imagine she'd read this thread and if she has, she has probably heard a lot worse before.

Abuse is rarely merited, but some people really do bring it on to themselves.

It's simple really don't post things that may offend some members, if in doubt don't post.

Also "Use the website feedback forum for any comment that doesn’t refer to site performance or technical issues." as per the rule of posting no.12
