PH.
Instead of upsetting most by asking opinions on updated headers, classifieds etc and then ignoring the critical replies, why doesn't someone work on a working search function that is of some use?
I'm sure you would get much applause.

This is not a forum section for sensible suggestions. It is for reporting website problems. Which (as you have noted) will largely be ignored.

You have been warned!

yes seems you're right, how silly of me to even suggest something that would be a real benefit to all users on here eh?

Obviously the powers that be aren't interested in something as low priority as a search facility for heavens sake I mean can you imagine anyone wanting to use such a thing that would be of some use? rolleyes
They seem much more interested in blowing smoke up their own arses about the latest attempt at ruining the site yet further, asking our opinions about it, then ignoring those opinions of any that don't like it.
Also, no one has yet explained why the tag line 'speed matters' has been dropped. [of course we all know it's probably because it's not seen as being PC] st , they'll be offering the loan of speed cameras next of the like busy body pensioners use in villages so we can grass each other up!

I think Haymarket want the site to earn more money, thus the change in the classifieds and the partnerships. I think Haymarket has plans for PH to have more events judging by the job vacancies page. So don't blame PH staff, blame the Haymarket Media Board wink

They are equally to blame.
PH is a pale shadow of it's former self, all in the name of progress.

I assume you've seen this - http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... - about the search function?

As my OH says when I accuse her of not listening to me. "I listened but chose not to act!"

Haymarket have obviously been listening to her not us, The dissatisfied.

As pointed out above, Lee has said we'd invest in getting the search function back: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Now let me get back to ruining the website. type

Pleased to see search is being addressed, even if we're talking October. I'm a relative noob still, but the old search is sorely missed.
Roll on October!

What do you expect, a pat on the back?
You tell us what we're getting with no consideration of what we may prefer. At the risk of repeating myself, PH is a pale shadow of what it used to be. Why not change the tagline that used to be 'speed matters' to something like 'we conform' or 'we don't like speed, it's just some talk about it'? Or better still, 'sold out'
I'm not alone with my opinions, it used to be a site for genuine enthusiasts and now it's a Fakebook wannabee. Poor, very poor.

I'm confused as to what you're expecting.

You began this thread to complain that we're not doing any worthwhile updates, specifically around search. Lee then announced we're going to be investing money to get search back into the forums. And then you posted up a tumbleweed to imply we're not doing anything.

So again, confused

Sorting 'Search' is a good idea but the rest of the supposed 'improvements' are not.

Shame the original post by Haymarket for opinions on the new header was not done as a vote. If it had the truth would out.
