Not for the first time. I've been stopped from contributing (re: defending. Granted aggressively, so I suspected there'd be feedback) a cyclist pov on PH. Since apparently certain posters believe everybody is either a cyclist OR car driver and you have to be entrenched in your view that the other side are s who have to be informed of this at every available opportunity. rolleyes

Most recent is the SUV attempted murder thread.

This is not a new thing. But that SUV thread was going the right direction. Like many threads have recently. General amazement that the woman driver overreacted so badly. That perhaps there was more to the story than just a cyclist randomly attacking a car (facts to be confirmed either way. Appears he has Autism) etc. People from both sudes saying that kicking a car is not the best thing to be doing anyway.

But then the same old trolling posters appear. Jimbop1 being perhaps the most vocal. But by no means the only lesser IQ'd poster who have a sociopathic hatred towards 2 wheeled road users. (despite him apparently riding a motorbike confused ) Sometimes because "all of them jump red lights" or "they don't pay road tax" or "because they get in my way" or any number of factually incorrect bks. This thread has been the worst, since various posters are advocating using a car to intentionally injure. (keyboard warrior-ing perhaps, but you never know with some of these morons) And that's a POV I can't help but think Haymarket would be wise to shut down ASAP. Damage to their reputation being the most obvious. Or to coin a phrase "not the type of thing we want on the forum"

Now I'm not saying we should stop counter points being raised, sometimes robustly. And clearly not every cyclist is a saint. Sometimes, I find myself disagreeing with the pro-bike pov being put forward. But these threads ALWAYS degenerate into a handful of tits trying to justify their mistaken opinion that every cyclist deserves hatred. And yet conversely every car driver is perfect, since they are in a car. rolleyes

And you know what. It's getting wearing when the mods do nothing about constant, repetitive, obvious trolling. These posters never get their posts deleted, they are never banned from threads. Seemingly never warned they are getting near to the mark. And whilst I'm guilty of it at times. The inequality on this 1 issue is far too obvious.

Worth pointing out that "report to moderator" function appears to do nothing. So no point in even bothering.

Over to the ADMIN for a response.

I reported one of the most objectionable posts which is something I do exceedingly rarely. I am disappointed that they have been left up as I feel it reflects badly on us as a forum. However, it does at least show people in their true light.
