When you view someone's profile, and the click on one of their posts, why does it then take you to the beginning of the thread, instead of the page the post is on

Because it's easiest

It could be more sophisticated. Highlighting the comments would probably be best as you may want their first comment rather than their last or you may just want to check out the whole thread.
