Article publish time?

I realise there are certain times articles are published (eg carpool tends to be early monday, SOTW ~9am friday), but what about the other news related ones?

The reason I ask is I like to spend my lunch break reading PH, it's often quite disappointing when I open the site at ~12.30 and there's only one article, sometimes none

I understand certain reviews have an embargo on them, but what about the more generic content like the PH fleet etc? Can't it just be published all at once at 9am?

Hi there,

Thanks for your post; I'm actually wondering if we've got some sort of technical issue here because we're well aware of the lunchtime browsing habits of many PHers and always aim to have the bulk of the day's content up by 1230-1300h in time to send the newsletter out. It would be an exceptional weekday if we did not have at least four stories up by lunchtime with usually a Time For Tea? in the afternoon too.

It does take some time for all the servers to catch up with each other sometimes and for the homepage to display all the current stories but we're talking minutes here, not hours.

I'm presuming, of course, that you're UK based here!

By all means drop me a line if you want me to look into it further but I am curious (and concerned) as to why you're not getting your hearty PH lunch of fresh stories to accompany your sarnie!

Thanks for replying. Yes I'm in the UK, it's not every day by any means but enough to subconsciously make me think its happening. Today for example there was just the carpool and the Motorsport on Monday available during lunch.

I appreciate some days you'll have more news to reveal from manufacturers etc than others; I'm not complaining just wondered if there was any special procedure behind the timings of.

That is odd because by my reckoning we had five stories up by 1330h; going by my CMS listing you should have had:

Honda CTX1300 review
Caterham Academy Brands Hatch
Motorsport On Monday
Toyota Celica: PH Carpool
BTCC Snetterton

Today we had the following up by 1315h and sent out with the newsletter:
Mercedes AMG GT Preview
Hakosuka GT-R Spotted
David Brown PH Meets
Hennessey Venom F5
Range Rover PH Fleet

If these don't tally up there seems to be some sort of delay occurring somewhere. I'll ask the techies if there's a reason anyone's homepage wouldn't update over that kind of timeframe.

Hi Chris, I think there might be an issue in the matrix somewhere where you are not getting the latest homepage we have to offer.

Have a go with our new Beta homepage http://www.pistonheads.com/classic/UseNewHomepage and see if that improves things.
