Can you get rid of it ?

... because it doesn't do anything.

It doesn't give you a bigger better image as the arrows on the icon suggest, it just rearranges the page layout and makes you pointlessley wait a few seconds.

I assume you are talking about the "view gallery" on classified details or on the search results page.

The size of the image on the gallery is restricted to the size of the browser/device you are using, as we have to maintain aspect ratio as well as including all the furniture needed by the business on those pages.

On a large screen the image will go to a max size of 730px, as appose to 610px on the details page. Also when using the search pages it is useful to see the images without having to go into the details themselves (something a lot of people do from the stats), so this helps show a large image using the same gallery.

On an iPad the details page (if the images are provided to us in a large format) shouldn't need to be enlarged as they would cover the whole width in portrait mode (in landscape it looks big too) and you can scroll through the images using the arrows or the thumbnails.
