I know it seems harsh, but if you allow one, can you imagine what it would be like here in very short order...

I don't even think it's harsh, I think it's disgusting. This boy is moving from hospital to hospice on Sunday. I genuinely don't understand how anybodies priorities can be to keep an Internet forum free from clutter at the expense of a dying 12 year old child's final wish.

Rules you agreed too at time of joining or since any changes

Good luck with your efforts but I'd say facebook and or local clubs might be the way forward

Didn't Pistonheads allow a good few threads dedicated to the event set up last year for the young lad who died of a terminal illness? It was quite the success if I recall. When did the rule change?

AFAIK the rule has stayed the same (although the wording has changed recently) - no UNAUTHORISED advertising or soliciting for charity. The trick is to ask for permission first.

It did.

Best to go through Facebook and Twitter then link it back here anonymously or mail the staff here before posting it to get them on board

It's already on Facebook, I can't discuss much detail as the thread will be removed again but this evening the event was brought forward to Saturday due to the kid taking a turn for the worse and being moved to hospice on Sunday.

This was all explained in great detail in the original removed post. I have 24 hours to try and make this kid have the best day of his 12 year old life but apparently rules are rules and that's the priority. I say again that I am genuinely disgusted.

The rules haven't changed in the last 5 or 6 years or so, due to the vast number of these types of post they are routinely removed.

However saying that some members have sought prior approval and permission has been granted.

You could always drop eybic or JD PH a mail.

Also does not help when you start spamming PH with it. IIRC it was 4 or 5 forums you posted it on - also against PH posting rules.

PH does not allow charitable threads to be posted on PH; as hard as that might be. Otherwise we'd be bombarded with these all day, every day.

Harsh, but those are the rules that applies to all.

This is the best advice.
