The recent attempt by RudolphsOwner to promote a charity event for a terminally ill 12 year old petrol head was pulled by the mods as it is against the rules.

Right?

No.

Absolutely completely and utterly wrong.

The rules and the mods bring shame on all of us here.

If we have no mechanism for dealing with this situation - and we clearly need one because common sense left the building on this call - then we ought to have such a mechanism.

And because I cannot think of another fairer way I propose that you change the rules to allow ALL charitable requests, provided they are posted in a new CHARITY sub-forum.

This will enable all of us to ignore the threads seeking sponsorship for a bungee jump in aid of the cats protection society, but when one catches the moment, so to speak, it can be linked to and promoted without breaking the rules and without denying a petrol head audience to an appropriate charity request.

I have to agree and say that I do not see it being a problem posting anywhere.

Thank you for the input.

There is no "situation to deal with" as the rules are quite clear; always have been and are what every user has signed up to.

This has also been raised before, numerous times and the answer is always the same and will remain so.
