I just received an emailed warning from PH admin about not plugging my wares for an old thread I started.

Quite honestly, I've no idea what it was about.

Thread was about a courier having delivered to my neighbour. I haven't posted in that thread for ages and I don't sell anything.

Presumably you have the details of the warning with the sender identified. Why not ask the question direct?

Looks like one of your posts was quoted, by someone on a mission.

You don't need to worry about it!

Or do you?

Because it came from a no reply email address.

Ah well Shaw Tarse is a PH brain and has cleared this up. All's well.

Can I tack another question on to this thread relevant to the subject

Is the notification of post deletion automatic or selected at the time of moderation?

I was a naughty person calling someone a nasty name and had the post removed (and the quoted post) and received notification of the post deletions as well as "guidance" in the thread concerned (no issues with any of that - I was out of line)

Yesterday I advised a poster that the post he created might not comply with the rules it was well meaning but involving the Ch*r*ty word - he deleted the post content and this morning the thread had gone but I received no notification email

Just wondering that's all?

If a thread is deleted then only the OP can be notified but if your individual post is deleted then there is an option to send you a message explaining why. It's an option whether to notify or not.

Selected at the time of moderation. Mods can decide whether to comment or not. More often than not, if a comment is removed, a mod will comment, if it's a quote of a comment, they won't.

Moderation notifications aren't sent to all posters on a deleted thread, that would generate an enormous load on servers, especially if the thread was large.

Thank you both for answering my questions

Understood that fully
