Banner advert slowing things down

On my iPad, I keep getting a banner advert for a pawnbroking service (I don't know why as I've never used nor have need for one!) - this advert slows everything down and I can't use the 'select' or similar functions until it's finished loading - which can take 60 seconds.

Is it just me?

I've been getting the same for the past couple of days on my Nexus running chrome and a windows 7 running firefox, ads trying to load and timing out. Sometimes it loads the page, sometimes it crashes the browser

Same on my iPad - not sure what the advert was, I could only see a Sky one on the side but it froze the thing up completely (iPad 2).

Chrome here and a brand new Xperia Z3 with 3Gb of RAM, something on this site either crashes it or brings it to a juddering halt

If a top end phone released 2 weeks ago cannot process the amount of crap PH throws at it I dread to think the user experience for people on older devices
