What a Opulent Bob is.
This is the cringe thread, not the tt thread.
It really does seem to be the smug keyboard warrior thread, smarmy s hanging out congratulating one another on being s.

I don't know why this thread is allowed to exist tbh, I find it highly distasteful. Hopefully it's in the process of eating itself.
Bang on.

No thread on PH pisses me off as much as this one does.

You can actually see the desperation in contributors to post a link to someone being "cringeworthy" - Alucidation's recent post being a good example of such, ditto Opulent Bob's.

I've said it time and again; this thread represents PH at it's worst, in my opinion.
So, does this thread represent PH at it's worst? PHers properly insulting each other in an open forum? Is this the type of thread the mods want on the site?

Apart from not having a clue which thread you're referring to, I'd have thought it was simple. If you don't like a thread - ignore it... Don't post in it. Don't bother reading it...

Or am I missing something?

It's no worse than any other GG or Lounge thread IMHO.
Unfortunately PH in general has been in a nose dive for some time now! frown

The thing that made the cringe thread go bad was posters saying they didn't like it, while posting in it anyway.

Not something I've ever understood.

So this is a thread, discussing a thread that discusses threads.

No real loss, the cringe thread was dying for a good few months.

I like watching people have a good moan.

Just my point of view, but could the 'offensive' stuff not have been modded? It was a 3,900 post thread.

Double meta thread, I don't know whether to doff my cap or check my wrist.

.... if someone had reported it.

Believe it or not, the mods simply don't have the time nor inclination to read every single post on every single thread. And sounding like a broken record, PH is a self-moderating environment. If you don't like it, then report it. It will then at least be looked at and considered.

I guess the easy option at this stage is to just delete it or lock it. Win win?

Doesn't bother me which option we go for smile

How do all the people that aren't offended by a thread express themselves?

Understood. I will waste my reading time on another thread or wait until the next cringe thread pops up smile

I don't have to mod the damn things, but I know Kinky likes beating down a good whine in here - I'm always happy to oblige!

One thing that bemuses me about PH is how often people post in threads just to complain about the subject matter. It's almost as if they feel compelled to post something, when if they ignored it the thread would quickly fade away and be forgotten.

Strikes me as the highest form of self-importance.

That's a nonsensical argument chaps I'm afraid. The logical conclusion of which is to cease all moderation across the site as if it's distasteful, abhorrent, insulting or worse, who cares as no-one asked you to open the thread.
