Would it be worth doing a gassing station 'lite' ? I was thinking about something like the option you get on some sites to view the page ready for print - ie. no images, shading, etc.

Right now i'm reading PH from a desk which is easily viewed by other people. And it's obvious that it's a website and not work!

If you could set up the gassing station to be a little less colourful with fewer images (except perhaps the ads) it would be much more discreet!

Actually, an RSS feed would be great, but I guess then you miss out on the ad revenue?

Try using Ghostzilla as your browser.

The program's author realizes that, for what it's worth, it's irresponsible to leave Ghostzilla in the open. So the free version has been removed from this site, and the CD version is not for sale anymore. It's a tech person's form of recycling: do what little we can, and everyone will be better off.
oo-er!

You can download it from here

The link is a little hard to find on the website. I think it's because they'd rather you purchase the CD version than download a the free version.

The changes I'm working on will allow that sort of thing to be done at this end.

Would this kind of thing allow me to read GG on my P900 more easily? Currently I am using Opera on it, with images turned off,but it still takes ages and uses a fair whack of bandwith.

Yes, I've got a low bandwidth, more flexible version in development. Not sure when it will go live, probably another couple of months away yet.

Ted - can you also register it under something like www.gooogle.co.uk or www.askk.co.uk - then it might get mistaken and overlooked on the works server

I've been trying Ghostzilla over the last few days. It is quite impressive, although it is a pain to do the mouse left-right-left thing with dual monitors!

It's a bit of a memory hog. I've currently got 3 browser tabs open and the ghostzilla.exe process is eating 400MB of RAM!

I'll see if I can find an inconspicuous URL

Interesting. Under WinXP Pro with dual monitor I only need to do it on the primary screen.

By the way, there is a small bug in GhostZilla. If you make a post on the GS and get an error saying "the document contains no data" then you will just have posted 8 times and you have literally seconds to delete 7 of them before someone jumps in and makes a comment about it.

(Fortunately it doesn't happen very often)

Oh yeah, that works!
