Afternoon all,

I understand the PH has been under some pretty heavy trolling the last couple of days, but when is the blanket lockdown going to be lifted please?

I have a few friends who only joined recently to join in some chat in the gaming board, and they keep getting this message:

"The forums are currently not accepting posts from new members.
This is due to persistent abuse earlier today.
The forums are likely to stay in this mode for some hours.
We apologise for the inconvenience and hope you'll return later."

...even when trying to post in this website feedback board!

As we're currently trying to organise details of things happening tonight, this is of course slightly inconvenient for them.

Can you and your friends not organise a piss-up the usual way, using WhatsApp or Facebook?

Are you taking the piss?

Ring them up or use ttbook/whatt. Jesus. Who knows, maybe you could even TALK to them.

As in, they're trying to organise a PH-wide tournament on the computer gaming board, smartarse

When they're not even PHers? Why organise a PH tournament with people they don't know on a forum they don't use. I can't even begin to elucidate how stupid that is.

Or the powers that be could just answer the question posed by the OP, rather than the traditional Matt-flaming.

They ARE PHers now you fking moron, they joined recently to join in the already large community having already gamed with us a lot previously, but are currently caught in the blanket ban on anyone under a certain time or post count.
I can't even begin to elucidate how stupid your constant attempts to turn this around onto me are.

It does sound like a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

I assume it's thanks to our friend Flynn?

Both within the last 3 weeks, not sure when exactly. Usernames are pansondowlingotn and MasterVentris - both of them I can personally vouch for as thoroughly trustworthy and genuine users.

Grover - I assumed the same, it's a massive shame that probably several hundred genuine new users have to suffer due to the actions of one unhinged cocksocket

Of course they're friends, he met them online playing World of Warcraft. They're 12 year olds from the US, which probably explains why he won't contact them via conventional means.

The forums have only been in lockdown since I implemented it last Thursday evening, the level has now been decreased today to verified mode, which means if new members have verified their email account they should be able to post.
