I have noticed that all sorts of irrelevant links are getting into posts. It is really daft when "is" links automatically to buying Lexus even if the letters are in this. It may be a minor problem but it is messing up Pistonheads.

Dunno. I am not a computer genius, I thought the iPad was immune to virus attacks and that's what I'm using.

I saw this linking a few weeks ago, then it disappeared, and now its back with a vengence now, its all over people's posts throughout the forum. Any selection of letters that could constitute a car's name is being linked.

If its malware then its on the OP's computer, my home PC and my work PC.

I can't see them when I'm logged in, all over all place when I'm not. Maybe it's a way of extracting some value from people who havent bothered to register?

Ah, you may be right. The links were all over the forum when I first started reading, but after logging in to make my post here they've all vanished. They must only appear to those who are unregistered / not logged in.

I had a complaint from a contributor to a forum I moderate that he was seeing links to all sorts of unsavoury services. After I explained that the nature of the links was based on his Google searches he never posted again...

It's definitely this. I was seeing all the links, realised I was not logged in. Logged in now and they're gone. I can't see how that would want to make you register. If I hadn't registered and saw that, then actually I wouldn't bother to register in the first place.

It's definitely this. I was seeing all the links, realised I was not logged in. Logged in now and they're gone. I can't see how that would want to make you register. If I hadn't registered and saw that, then actually I wouldn't bother to register in the first place.
