In the Gnat thread and now the Blackbushe thread what has happened is that some female trucky has posted a rebuttal of my opinions and then I have been thread banned before I can respond.

At no point have I contravened any of the forum rules and my opinions are held reasonably widely.

The Moderators need to either close these threads because they don't want the discussion on this forum, OR, they need to not selectively thread ban one side of the debate. I don't mind much either way because about a year from now when we have the AAIB reports we can start a new thread full of grudging acknowledgments that I was right.

Your call.

Could you paste Rule 1 & 2 here please?

As far as I can see the only 'argument' centres around it being disrespectful to refer to Kev/Jester as 'the dead guy'. Other than that its just differences of opinion and people not understanding how an online discussion forum works.

"The MX5 is the best sportscar in the world and is the answer to everything."

See that's technically an unequivocal statement being asserted as fact. Whereas of course in the context of an online discussion forum it is 'an opinion' being shared. Now what we are witnessing on this sub-forum is mob rule by a majority asserting a tyranny of what is and is not a valid opinion. Good forum moderation - and i've seen plenty over the years - does not allow the hounding out of the reasonable by the righteous.

I suspect you've been banned from the Gnat thread due to your "opinions".

You were happy to cast doubt on the pilot's skills and abilities and poo-poo his RAF training.

Nobody knows the facts yet - until then it might be best to wind your neck in.

The guy was killed. He has a wife and family.

Show some respect.

Fella - it's like this;

A quick google search of your alter ego "Skellan" brings up all kinds of nasties.

You're a WALT who trolls internet forums.

Apparently you're a former member of The Parachute Regiment, a former Navy Pilot and now an Airline Pilot.

Unfortunately - for you - your posts on other forums give you away as a fake.

I know it's the school holidays but surely it's past your bedtime now.

Night night. Sweet dreams.

Converter Lurker - if you want to question the actions of the moderators then I'd suggest either taking it up with them directly, or posting in website feedback for their attention. You should have received at least two emails from them already though, so I expect you won't get any answers you haven't already heard.

If you'd like to know why you've come to their attention; I was one of the people who reported you. You were being deliberately inflammatory in what is usually a quiet and rational corner of PH. At the very least you were breaking rules one and two: "Do not post material that a reasonable person would find offensive, annoying or upsetting" and "Do not be argumentative for the sake of it or be deliberately contrary".

There is no "right to reply" or "freedom of speech" here. This is not a country and the mods are not the police. It's a friendly local pub and the landlord can bar anyone they feel like. You have been being a negative influence upon the community and I strongly suggest you either calm down or move on before you receive something more serious than a thread-ban.

Your "opinions", using your MX-5 comparison, are more akin to:

"It was bound to be a fatal accident. A Mk1 MX-5 with no driver aids is lethal and would never get type approval in the UK now. Quite why anyone is defending some posh banker who jacked in race driving lessons to do some other career that let him play around in sports cars is beyond me. We're all lucky he only killed himself."

To be fair that isn't necessarily a correlation that it is the same guy.
