Redirects to app store on iOS -- please stop it

In the last week, maybe two, I've noticed when browsing the forum on my iPhone, I often get redirects that opens up the App Store on things like William Hill.

I think this is hugely unacceptable. As it completely interrupts using the site.


I'm using Chrome on iOS 9.1 and the full PH site. I get the popups in the forum, either clicking on topics, or on the Quote or Reply to topic buttons/links. Essentially when it loads a page.


I don't object to adverts on the page, but intrusive advertising like this is unacceptable from anyone.

Nobody else getting this?

Getting pretty annoying. It also tries to download a file and fails. Thinking of not bother with PH on a mobile device from now on.

We're equally frustrated by this and are working with our Advertising team to solve this. (which we thought we had done in all honesty but it seems to have come back)

They're meeting with us again this morning to try and resolve it once and for all.

The main issue is that unlike any other other problem this ad is that it is so hard to locate. This particular ad does not leave the usual fingerprints such as a click URL or presence on page that we can investigate, especially as it removes the page and the landing page is not a normal web page. We do have all gambling blocked and we have blocked any popups or redirects on all platforms. We are working hard to find this so please bear with us.
