Why has the tagline 'speed matters' been dropped?
Why have all girlie pictures of cars been removed from previous topics?
Just asking,,,,,
Speed matters has been re-purposed as the name of our new weekly newsletter - so it hasn't been dropped. If you do not get it, and want to see Speed Matters against PistonHeads, then sign up here -> http://pages.haymarket.com/piston_heads/PHDS-Full-...Why have all girlie pictures of cars been removed from previous topics?

It is rather good and you will just be in time for this Thursday's output, which last week looked like this.
The second question, I am unsure of what previous topics you are referring to, so if you point me the direction, we will be able to answer that question better.
'Speed Matters' used to be the tag line, it used to appear on home page, it is no longer a tag line so it has been dropped. Please don't insult with the 're-purposed' excuse.
Off the top of my head, Random pics of TVR's. Have a look and see all the girlie pics have gone.
Why don't PH just man up and own up that it's a decision that's been made because neither are seen as PC here anymore?

It's the end of the world! This free website isn't exactly to my taste, and has changed!
Seriously, what material difference does the tag line make to your use or enjoyment of the site? I ask as a long term member, but otherwise nothing to do with PH (i.e. I'm not a mod or staff member).
As for the girlie pictures, they've always been deleted when reported or noticed by mods to keep the website workplace friendly. Last thing I need is my director walking behind me during my lunch break to see what looks like a naked girl sprawled across a car...

Sorry bloke, I don't want to have a go, but, As expected, question avoided 'again'.
The tagline has been dropped, photos deleted. fact, end of.
This year why not ask Father Christmas for a sense of proportion and a stocking full of common sense? The tagline has been dropped, photos deleted. fact, end of.

Personally I feel the OP has a point. This whole "it's haymarket's house so you play by their rules" doesn't wash I'm afraid, not when a forum is created to allow its users to express their free views.
Is anyone so stupid to think if you don't like the way things are happening you have to put up or shut up?
The tag line has been dropped and no one at PH has had the balls to explain why
Should it offend the sites owners, why not just come out and say it rather than the slightly poxy explanations that have thus far been offered. Let's be honest, the exclusion of "speed matters" and a few girly pics won't drastically change the site but it would be nice to have a strong editorial message and more importantly-allow its readers/contributers to understand what exactly it is that message is.

that's totally lost on me,,,,, What he said was whilst important to you it's not exactly the end of life as we know it and you are probably wasting your time.
Pistonheads isn't a co-operative - it can and does do exactly what it wants regardless what people think about it.
What answer exactly would be the right one?
I'd sugges the correct answer would be....
"We dropped speed matters as it is not a pc message for our commercial entity"
This would then generate much nashing of teeth and pounding of keyboards, generating page after page of frothing indignation from dozens of PH users.
Haymarket can then sell advertising space on all of these pages, to advertisers who use massive pop up ads, or noisy ones or ones that use video.
These ads will generate further pages of moaning whinginess which can further be sold on to advertisers.
Repeat til end.

Point completely lost. Perhaps we should just fast forward and watch a list of PC adverts rolling past with only a remote chance of expressing an opinion on those as long as they are PC and accepted.
RIP PH, a place where useful advice was freely given but is now so diluted, you're welcome to it.
ETA My original question has not been answered, that speaks volumes.

I am not sure that any answer will satisfy you, unless it is the answer you think it should be. RIP PH, a place where useful advice was freely given but is now so diluted, you're welcome to it.

My answer as said before. The tag line didn't fit (in a design sense) with the logo redesign we did, and wasn't done for any PC reason.
Also, it is the title of the weekly newsletter - and thus still being used on PistonHeads. A point you have chosen to ignore.

An honest answer would suffice, I don't buy the 'didn't fit' nonsense and a point you have chosen to ignore is my question on pictures. [what next to be deleted, black cars?] So, in the absence of honesty I have my answer and will leave it there. My answer as said before. "Pistonheads - earning money for Haymarket Lord Heseltine matters"
Perhaps even those in their ivory tower considered that one a bit risky...
In the grand scheme of things it's not the end of the world, things change.
