Sounds like a phishing email, can you do the honours and forward it to adverts@pistonheads.com? Don't click on any links within the email - if you have, please reset your password via the website when you are logged in.

I'd hate to think I could reset someone's password simply by using that function.

The industry standard (as much as there is a standard) is to send a "Someone claiming to be you said you forgot your password, if it was you click this link within X hours, if it wasn't you please ignore this email".

If no link is present it will just be one of our older style password reset emails. All of our users should get the newer style password reset email (i.e a reset link not a physical password). It may be that you are only a forum member, not registered for classifieds, hence the old style email. Sadly people will muck around like this from time to time. Thanks for forwarding it on though!
