and I assume is a scam given the photos are lifted directly from an apparently genuine advert from Giles Cooper

It would be nice if the PH mods and site owners did a little more to verify adverts are genuine. Surely having dodgy adverts does nothing to help the reputation of the PH brand, nor encourages genuine buyers and sellers to use the site. Unfortunately there will always be people who fall for scams and end up out of pocket, and I would have thought that PH has a duty to protect its site users.

There's a "report" button. Did you click it? (Don't worry, I've already done it)
The ads system is completely automated, like ebay. I wouldn't expect a 24-7 service manually checking for fraudulent ads.
When dodgy ads are reported they're usually take down pretty promptly. We'll see how long this one takes, now.

I've moved this to website feedback so it can be picked up. Just for reference us mods have no access to verify adverts we just look after the forums. There is a report button on each advert that you can use if you feel an advert isn't legithttp://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/t...

Agreed, but that Giles Cooper ad with the car listed as SOLD has been listed for over 6 months now.
It would be nice if the classified section carried cars on all listings that were actually for sale.
I called an ad on PH recently and they said the car had been sold months agoIt would be nice if the classified section carried cars on all listings that were actually for sale.
