Need some Mod advice re: Trolling

How far is too far where trolling is concerned? I'm having a (small) problem with a user who appears to have taken it upon himself to incessantly troll me because he doesn't agree with the points i make in my posts. I've reported him twice because he's obviously itching for an argument, but that hasn't stopped me from responding to his drivel.

I'll defend myself, but also make an effort to keep the topic on-track, but it seems like a fruitless plan at this stage. So if what he's doing is okay then what stage should i stop short of in my retaliation? I don't have a problem with people disagreeing with me, but when someone says "your posts are stupid" and then makes no contribution to the topic at hand, then it's simply for the purpose of getting a rise out of the person he's flaming.
I've already made an effort to take the "debate" to a less popular section of PH but i doubt he'll take the opportunity.
Of course it would be a lot easier if i could simply block the wker, but i understand why PH doesn't include this feature. So the only option is to get him to shut up somehow, or at least try to post something relevant to the topic.

Phrases like "People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. "Prolific" you say, you make 61 posts a month on average in every section of PH as if you've got nothing better to do. I've made 22 posts a month on average almost exclusively in F1 and GG.

If you have a an issue with a post, click report and mods will look at it. Minor spats on threads are mostly reliant on both parties acting like adults, or one party just moving on.

You could always ignore him? Might also to want to look inwardly a tad - being classed as having a similar posting style to Scuffers is quite a place to be. Posting that way will always divide opinion quite strongly..

And, for the record, I wasn't trolling. I just took exception to the ste you and your mate posted in what can be - at times - an informative place to be. Thing is, I enjoy facts and genuine insight. Not playground conjecture that could have been lifted from playing F1 2015 on the PS4, not the actual sport / season.

I don't post "ste", i post opinions. Learn the the difference, unless you really are THAT stupid. Speaking of which, why is it you keep changing your username if you don't deliberately troll people? What are you hiding BoredNerd / HewManHeMan / Motorsport_is_expensive? I'm bound to find more aliases if i dig a little deeper. Your "Catherine Wheel" comment is ripped straight off of a Sunderland football website that has a 'Catherine Wheel of Rumours'. Do you actually say ANYTHING that are your own thoughts or do you just piggyback everyone else's ideas and enjoy the attention?
Also cars, this is a car website and there is no evidence of you ever having one. Wtf's that all about? Where's the 535 you allegedly have? The MX-5? The fabled 106 Gti (which probably started life as an XS if it exists at all) with the rollcage, 205 wheels and special suspension? You go into picture threads purely to claim you have something and then post no pictures. I wouldn't be surprised if i go further back and there's a Porsche claim somewhere, or maybe "my mate's Ferrari" or some equally moronic statement.
You admitted that you "Only have experience on the fringe of the lowest formula go-karting available" and then go into racing topics to give advice on trackdays and circuit racing even though your actual experience is all on the PC/XB1/PS4 that you spend all day playing on. That's not reality you fkwit.

My point? I say exactly what i think about what i know, i watch Formula 1 for the racing, not just because 1 particular driver is "cool" (which is the whole basis of your opposition - because i referred to 2009 Hamilton as a brat) and i don't hide behind aliases out of fear of being a nobody.
