why no 'wanted' threads allowed?

as it says above... Just out of curiosity why are the no 'wanted' threads allowed? I know you can post a 'wanted' advert but there will be cases where someone hasn't even thought of selling their car and the thread may just make them think about it rather than looking on the 'wanted' ads (I've never looked on the wanted section)....

A wanted thread can also help advise the best place to look for a specific car - especially important on uncommon specialist vehicles (like, for instance, a F150 Lightning!).

The mods have been instructed to remove all vehicle wanted threads from the forums. This has been in force for a good few years now. There may be the odd one or two sculling around, they just haven't been reported or picked up by the mods.

Wanted threads for parts and the like are OK, and are allowed.

I would guess because of the same reason that for sale ads are not allowed. The forums are read for good discussion rather than to read ads either wanted or for sale. I have purchased and sold cars from PHers multiple times though - but in the organic flow of conversation/PM rather than posting an ad
