Trailing space on username login

Hi PH.

If I enter my uname as Taita (no space after it) I can log in fine, but if there is a trailing space due to an autocorrect cockup it doesn't work.

Looks like it sees the space as a legit character that makes it not match a valid uname.

I know,i need to fix my autocorrect but it's still a minor 'un-feature'!

Thanks for your feedback.

Unfortunately I don't think there's a lot we can do to help you here. A few members use a trailing space in their login name, so if we trimmed the trailing spaces in the username field, then this would not work for those members.

Why would people use a trailing space at the end? Seems bit odd to me!

Any ideas?

For example I could create an account exactly the same as another member just with a trailing space, and essentially pretend to be them until I'm rumbled?

If I log in as Taita<space> I fail to login as you'd expect as technically the username is wrong.

A lot of this is due to my bloody autocorrect too >_<
