Mod posts should be highlighted.

It's occurred to me in the past that Mod posts should be highlighted in the same way that when searching for user posts they are highlighted yellow.

With the speed that some threads can move at, plus Mods not always being widely 'known' (especially to newer users) this may help people notice when Mods are calling for a spot of calm in a thread etc.

Thoughts?

Assume all threads are monitored and anyone may be a moderator.
Mostly, it's worked so far - why fix what ain't broke?

Bigger issues like people getting logged out, dodgy adverts, patchy email/PM system, phonesafe, etc. to sort before worrying about problems that don't exist.

Knowing who the mods are doesn't stop the mods watching threads without posting on the thread editing/deleting/banning as required.

I fail to see the need for this. A key part of the success of PH moderation is that they contribute as well as modding. The few examples of 'warnings' being given on a thread seem pretty clear to me.

no, LG meant that it's stuff the techies should do before arranging for posts from the Mods to be highlighted...

no, LG meant that it's stuff the techies should do before arranging for posts from the Mods to be highlighted...

Agreed, peer moderation is the best.
But the tech is there for PH staff to highlight a post, so it would only take a few clicks to give mods the same rights.

Just getting PH staff to respond to questions/feedback would be a start, let's not complicate things too much for them
