New Website Adverts

I usually visit this site a few times a day and have done so for a long time. Recently, I have been here much less for one reason: the automatic advert video plugs. I absolutely cannot stand videos that start playing automatically or if I happen to click outside of the website, I get transferred to a different ad site. It's absolutely killed my desire to come here and even when I do, I just try to click on a story as quickly as possible so I don't have to be forced to watch/listen to something I care nothing about. So disappointed that you guys turned to that sort of advertising.

Thanks for the feedback. As it happens we generally agree with you, but due to the complexities of how Advertising space is sold we sometimes get undesirable / poorly targeted ads slipping through the net.

We'll keep trying to control the type of adverts we get, but due to several Factors we won't always be successful... For now!

Just to add to what James has said, if you come across one of these adverts and can tell us what advert it is, what page it is on and what kind of device/browser you are using, we will do our best to locate and remove the offending advert ASAP.
