[RESOLVED / ANSWERED] Forum nodding its head upon opening

Seems every forum I open nods up and down momentarily, no ad appears above afterwards either. Is this normal, rather distracting.

Every time on an iPhone so can't click a link or it'll do the one above it.

It does this for me on IE/FF on PC and Safari on Mac, iOS is fine.

Can you confirm what device, browser and skin you're using please?

Just Apple iPhone here, rather blotchy and sweaty but that's not important right now.

macbook, safari, os x here..............but see above for others as well

but as I mentioned, if I login with my username it doesn't happen

Hi GarageQueen,

Thanks for your feedback. I'm having trouble replicating this in the way that you are describing, having tried it both logged in and not logged in. However, it sounds like the page is loading the space for an advert, the advert not being loaded, so then the page removes the space. Nothing to worry about though, albeit it is a bit distracting.

Vaud - Each part of the page loads when it is ready, meaning that until the whole page has loaded you may experience some jumpiness. Unfortunately, the alternative to this is to only load the page when everything is ready, which would mean that you wouldn't be able to see anything until the whole page is ready, which could take a while. Loading each part of the page when that part is ready and the resulting jumpiness is the lesser of two evils.

That sounds exactly what I'm getting. Can the space for the ad be fixed, irrespective of if an ad is served or not?

It happens a lot on phone, forum loads you think its done, go to click and it jumps

Isnt it just redrawing the page with fancy quotation bubble things around the posts

My initial thought is that wouldn't be very easily done, but it is something we will look into.
