You're not banned from the thread, but you are banned from NP&E unfortunately! The thread was moved to NP&E because it's relevant to that sub-forum.

HTH.

Unfortunately not! A ban is a ban and we have to stick to it.

Theres plenty more sub-forums for you to participate in smile

Why's that Jack?
The message posted in the forums says you'll be allowed back in if you play nicely - it doesn't say you'll be banned forever and you'll have to log in with another user name to get around it
Does the message need changing?

Who knows why that ban was made, but previously it's been because a poster posts something they know is right sometimes because they've been in said situation, but some of the other posters think that cant possibly have happened, argue with the poster and the easiest way to resolve the situation is to ban the poster.

It doesnt help if strawman comes into play and the someone says the so called errant poster has said something they havent, then argues against it as if they have - the rest join in thinking the poster must have said it and so must be due for a good banning

Play nicely seems to mean play along with the crowd and keep quiet if it's wrong

How to resolve it when a self serving bun fight has developed is another issue

Anyway if the come back when you can play nicely means never come back - surely it should say that? spin

One of my comments was racist apparently as I included the colour of the person in my description. But when you are banned or have a comment removed having been judged as such, you have no right to reply no matter how nonsensical.

The ban rule is bks to be quite frank. However, rules is rules. It is a bit annoying if a post gets moved to an area where you are banned.

its not even one thread its a whole section.. i love NP&E... it does spoil the overall experience. It was off the back of a comment i made in the McCann thread.

Seriously - i've changed cars, jobs and where i live since the ban.. i am a different person laugh

Lifetime ban seems a bit harsh..Can't it at least be reviewed?

It has been. As I'm sure you are aware the moderation team have had to intervene in your posting on a large number of occasions, so it's not like it is a one-time event that resulted in your ban.

i do not recall 'a large number of interventions' from the moderation team. i recall a few posts being removed and a ban from NP&E.

Just for reference, how many times have the moderation team needed to intervene with my posts and when was the last time any action was required?

Surely a better question would be how many times would they have had to intervene in those 2 years if you hadn't been banned?

Its all a bit nebulous if he's been banned from a thread so been unable to post in whatever way led to the banning
Ideally everyone should have access to their intervention record, otherwise they wont fully understand why theyve banned
but at the end of the day the T&Cs allow you to be banned whether you realise why or not

This is the last I'll post on the subject as there is nothing further to discuss in this case. As has been explained, a permanent forum ban is a permanent ban.

From a quick check it would appear that there have been at least 18 moderation interventions with your posts, one previous thread ban and the forum ban. The last action was in October 2014 (but there were regular interventions from just a month after you signed up to forums).

I've been banned from N,P&E... seriously it's the best thing that's ever happened to me, I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders, apart from the simmering resentment that I didn't do anything wrong and was rounded on and bullied off their by a bunch of snitches looking to attack someone, it's been an entirely positive experience.
