Would it be possible to change the default search order to "Last update time" and "Descending", or at least save a users selection for use on the next search? Sorting by "Relevance" has never given useful results for me.

Hi - thank you for your suggestion. I think we will stick with relevance for the foreseeable future, unless we get lots of requests for the same thing. smile

Rather than changing the default could you perhaps make the selections sticky? Currently if you perform a search, and change the ordering criteria, then if you perform another search the ordering immediately resets to the default values.

Both good points, which I've requested previously.
The existing sort criteria simply makes no sense. Because the search function is a little 'obscure' I'm sure it just isn't used enough to get useful feedback.
