Ted, on lesser forums there is often a box listing all those signed in and browsing a particular form or thread. Whilst I realise the 'Mates' function might tell me who is about, it would be a nice option to see just who is looking at what, and when. Is this something you've considered and dismissed? I'm guessing that PH gets significantly more traffic than many fora, so the box might be substantial in size at peak times - maybe have it as a pop-up that you can click on/off?

Bandwidth! Didn't consider that. Still - as a toggle option? No worse than the 'Mates' pop-up? Just a slight variation, or is my total lack of programming knowledge showing me up here?

heh. something like the mates pop up would work. The bandwidth reason was why it became a pop up itself.

Not sure it's practical really. Too many people browse the forums. I can make the list of 'mates' more visible now though so I'll give that some thought.

Cheers Ted. Coincidentally the forum I was referring to published their 2005 Q1 traffic stats today here. I'm sure PH totally out-classes it, but by what margin? (or should that be multiple? )
