Phone numbers have been obtained from adverts that do not use Phonesafe, our database has not been compromised. Fraudsters will regularly sweep the website to gather as many phone numbers as possible, so even if you don’t have an advert live now, your number may have been harvested in the past.
Our support team were made aware of this yesterday morning. Around an hour after the first call, we sent an email to all those with a live advert to warn them. A request was also sent to shut the website down, this usually takes up to 24 hours to action.
