AdBlocker seems to be powerless and if this crap gpoes on I'll just stop using the forums. I don't want to quit but I am absolutely bloody infuriated with the same bloody adverts spattering everywhere and worse, animated so I can't concentrate. The same adverts even appear within inches of each other FFS banghead

Haymarket, are you really this strapped for cash?

ETA Checking this post I see the SAME advert THREE times. Honestly, you couldn't fking make it up.

You're using the wrong ad blocker.

Adblock plus - it even tells you how many ads it's blocking, and on this page it's three just as you claimed. smile

I have Adblock Plus. Recently pages such as PH, FB and eBay lost formatting but disabling ABP brought them back. So I cleared out the filter list to start again - but these fking Adchoices ones can't be blocked - you right click but there's no 'block' option...

uBlock Origin. Haven't seen a single ad on here for years (and I lurk a fair bit).

I use AdBlock (the normal one with the white hand in a red octogon symbol) and uBlock Origin and have a pleasant ad-free experience on all sites using my desktop PC. Try those and report back.

The ultimate ad blocker is pi-hole which requires a raspberry pi or better to run. It’s a small DNS server that lives in your network and sends all ad domains to a black hole. It sits there very quietly and requires no maintenance.

It also can’t be detected by sites watching for ad blockers.

Still with that said I try to allow PH adverts to support their revenue.

Your adblocker is broken or ste.

There are ads on PH? When did that happen?

Thanks guys, I'll try uBlock. Will it run alongside ABP or should I uninstall ABP first?

Personally I just use uBlock Origin and I never see an ad anywhere.

So I got a mortgage with First Direct yesterday, to shut them up, and then a copy of What Car? and a Hotpoint cooker. Now I have to buy a scarf... Haymarket, this is getting expensive, can you send me some cash to cover the cost of your advertising please?

ETA And another copy of What Car? and a camera.

No point whatsoever in running two, unless you think your browser's usually too fast.

As I use Firefox I thought I'd see if it was available as a plugin, and it was, but I also saw 'AdBlocker for Firefox' and thought I'd try that first. Seems to have worked - and on YouTube etc as well. Currently seeing ABP 1, ABF 5 smile

I seem to have to do this every few weeks when ads suddenly start appearing again.

I am convinced PH are running some anti adblock software wink

Latest score ABP 1, ABF 10.

Oh, and even 1:6 on the 'reply to topic' page. They're like viruses, a global plague of digital ste. And we're all paying for them in the stuff we buy.
