Any idea on when the McCanns thread will be reinstated?

It was said that there were some unwanted replies on there but that was months ago. There must have been enough time to delete a few errant replies and reinstate it by now surely?

HM are paranoid about comments made here re the McCanns, how many threads on them have been consigned to the digital shredder?

The last one is still available on Google cache along with one or two more little gems from here which have gone the same way

Big al said "It was pulled because it descended into a tasteless & crass joke thread relating to song titles."

So after the thread has been cleaned up of the "crass jokes" it would be reinstated, but it cant take months to do this can it?

To me it does. There were some interesting links, and discussion on the whole was interesting. Perhaps if it didn't i would not have posted this thread.

Maybe one of the reasons threads get closed is because people want to post pointless things to try to stir things up and cause an arguement.

Out of interest Alucidnation why would you do that? Maybe if you could offer a little insight into this it could help others understand where you are coming from.....

I'm sure I've seen it mentioned on here before that HM have previously been threatened by the legal team, of said family referenced on this thread, hence why inevitably the threads get pulled when the usual comments, etc, pop up?

I had heard that too, but not sure how much truth there was in it.

The thread had gone on for a long time and not been deleted, although maybe a few posts had been.
I wonder if there was something posted which prompted this? If so i would like to have thought those individual posts would have been removed and left the rest to continue.

You seem to be offering yourself as an authority in these matters, so what post or posts in particular caused the thread to be removed?
Why was it allowed to go on for so long with so many posts if its something which cant be discussed?

If its been deleted because of a post then why not remove that post rather than the whole thread?

I thought I read on a news stream somewhere that any social media discussing this topic was threatened with legal action, I don't know if other forums shut their threads down.

I had heard similar too, but imo there are so many weird and wonderful things stated as fact rather than opinion, see the post by eharding above for an example, it would be nice for it to be confirmed by someone who knows rather than someone trying to stir things up.

And it was said by big al that it was because of crass jokes rather than any threats of legal action.

If it was because of crass jokes then half of the threads on this forum would vanish.

I share that query Eric.

The McCann thread on here broadly existed for everyone to discredit them in every way possible. Woe betide anyone who ventured into it that belived that maybe they didn't actually have direct involvement in the dissapearance. The pack would be lying in wait if they did.
