A fond farewell!

I joined this site in June 2004 but posted under a different name; that's a long time ago.
In that era this forum absolutely buzzed and was populated by many and varied police officers, lawyers and even judges. The debates were fascinating, intelligent and most times friendly. We all argued with great passion with the intention of making a difference on the roads as motorists of all types. I fought tooth and nail sometimes with the BiB on here over legal issues and helped numerous people defend themselves in court. It was great fun and we all had respect for each other, albeit sometimes grudgingly!
Sadly everything has change and the only original posters still here from that era are myself and FiF. The verbal abuse is totally unacceptable on many posts and there is a substantial number of posters who appear to wholeheartedly support the enforcement agencies. Indeed one individual who profits from the camera partnerships is on here under at least 7 alias. I have reported this and nothing is done. Of course the site is now run by entirely different people than it was 14 years ago.
The post I put up about the horrendous Islamic child abuse cases has only gone to one and a half pages; something I find utterly incredible given the seriousness of the issues and how it could affect any of your children; and not one post from a police officer.
I suppose we all have different priorities, but I have to express seriously deep disappointment over that one.
So I'm moving on to other things and I wish you all the best and hope you all find what you're looking for.

I think you’re just an old man getting more obsessed by islam and how bad it is. Seems to happen to a lot of oldies I think the balance of the brain changes. Could be worse you could have become a religious zealot instead so think yourself lucky. I think all religion is man made but don’t need to go on about it. Who wants to comment on yet ANOTHER islamic thread? It’s hardly new. It’s tiresome.

I think that's not quite right tbh, lots of posters with longer history still here, but in a way can sympathise with jith, I'm posting less often, markedly so. The reason mainly is the stinky attitude so evident.
Btw, didn't comment on your child abuse thread jith, had all I had to say on that subject on the various other threads, including the first to raise one of the most shocking specific cases highlighted by the Times journalist, and bringing up the generally disgraceful behaviour of SYP, an outfit of which I am ashamed, and the reason for bailing out to pastures new.
