How many years and still getting logged out at random?

I realise its not the end of the world and there are bigger issues in life, but is there a good reason why at least some of us still get logged out seemingly at random and have to log in again?

It just seems a pointlessly irritating 'feature' that other forums don't seem to suffer from. I've read the explanation from 2 years ago but it doesn't seem to explain too much... any info from the PH techies on whether we can avoid this from the user end or if there is any intention to improve it?

Me too, its random, its sometimes not for a while then its a few times in a short time.

Its annoying.

Apologies for this annoying feature (yep, a feature ), unfortunately this isn't in the pipeline to be fixed due to dev resource being reduced.

I've only had to log in twice today.

ETA make that 3 times, once for every time I've visited. I guess the solution to having to log in so much is don't visit PH as often. I guess not visiting PH at all would solve the problem completely, but I kinda like it here.

Given that Jack used the singular "resource", that implies there was one developer before the reduction.

I find that the only time i ever have to login again is whenever I completely close my browser (firefox). long as i have a tab or window open i always stay logged in.
