Search backend broken

Trying to use what passes for a search function on here is currently broken.

The results returned show the wrong date for the most recent post, sometimes substituting the date of the first post, sometimes something else. Inevitably none of the dates is particularly recent.

The search function being useless is nothing new but mangled database returns usually isn't a good sign...

Its a shame, because many moon's ago, the PH search facility was actually very good, and was worth using.
