Trying to upload pictures and it's not working

I'm trying to make a new thread and add pics. One pic has successfully uploaded using the upload image button. The 2nd pic won't upload and it says it's too large because the file size is restricted to 2mb. The first pic is larger than 2mb and pretty much the same size as the 2nd so what gives?

I've tried Flickr and Imgur. It won't display the pic when I've tried to link them. I'm pulling my hair out now.

Are you trying to upload both pics to the same post? If so, combined, they may be too big. Try posting them in separate posts and see if they open. I use the PH supplied box, and resize each pic, and find it's one of the easiest sites to post pics on, but I'm not great at it and struggled initially.

No I've tried uploading a single file pic in a new post and Imgur or Flickr still doesn't work. I still don't understand how it let me attach the 1st pic.

Do you need the resolution of a 2Mb image ?

If not use an online resizer and upload the images using Tinypic or similar.

All I want to do is to upload my images somewhere and link them here. Why is that so hard?

So shrink them down - for general viewing, there's no need for images to be anywhere near as large as 2Mb filesize.

I send my phone pics to my mac laptop, resize them on that and post them from there. Not sure what else to suggest.

Isn't there a service that does that for me, E.g. photobucket? Everything used to be uploaded to an album and it would automatically resize it when posted.
A lot of the time I use my phone to post things. I don't want or need multiple pics on my phone in different sizes.

But the big question is, why aren't img links working for me?

So Flickr didn't even give me a jpg link. That's obviously why that's not working.

Flickr, click on the download link, view all sizes, then you get a selection of sizes that you can click on and be given direct links for; eg from https://www.flickr.com/gp/ngrhodes/V8769W

An easy workaround......

Open a Powerpoint file.

Load your pic there.

Right click the pic and save as a jpg to desktop or wherever you wish.

Job jobbed, your pic will be of a much reduced size.

Thanks. Does that work on the mobile app too?

Imgur seems to be working, however the pics are taking their sweet time to show up. When I posted that pic above, I reckon it took a good 10 mins til it showed up.
