Spam posts, why not deleted?
Discussion
Lots of spam posts on here recently, and if I click on one (so that I can report it as spam), it says "Nothing to see here", because it's already been removed. But why doesn't the spam removal procedure also remove the title from the forum listing pages, so that I don't waste my time? There's thread after thread in some areas that are clearly spam, but clutter up the listings.
We have a couple of ways to clear out a spammers posts, the first being the easiest on the admin tab we have an option to delete all posts from all forums. simple, well not quite as it leaves the headers in the index list, with a nothing to see if you click on the link.
The other way is to go into the spammers profile and delete each thread individually, that doesn't leave a header in the forum index, so it's a cleaner method.
It's all about time really the first is quicker than the second method, and when you're trying to get out the door to go to work the first option takes seconds.
HTH explain.

Probably because they are cached in your browser. If you're using Chrome, hit F12, then right click on the refresh page icon, then select Empty Cache and Hard Reload.
IE is CTRL + F5
Firefox it's https://kb.iu.edu/d/ahic

No, not that - I found one from months ago when I was trying to find another thread, and I just did a Ctrl-F5 and it made no difference. You can see there's a spam post a couple below this one.Big Al's response does explain it, thanks for that. Seems a little strange that the code doesn't then go on to check if a post from a spammer is the only one in that thread, then delete the thread as well. But explains it, cheers.
