Indeed, not free for me either.
I use ebay and manage to sell everything easily for a £15 fee using classified ads.
The PH classifieds are comically shocking for trying to find anything so I wouldn't pay to use it.

It was way back when they decided to monetise the ads, people who signed up prior to them doing that kept the ability to sell for free on the site but anyone signing up from that point on had to pay.

I get the free ads, so it happened sometime between eight and ten years ago, which in internet years is about umpty trillion billion squillion. Give or take a few.

this was my understanding and I've never paid for a PH advert. Put one on a week or so back and, again, no change - free
