Post Invisible !

I know this is going to sound ridiculous but I have just posted on the Kettle thread down the pub, and even though it said 'Message Posted - Thankyou for your Drivel' when I clicked 'Return to Topic' I can not see or find my post.

I can see the post in my 'Contributions' list, but it is not listed on the actual thread.

Ted or anyone got any ideas? Most strange

In the last few minutes (since the restart after maintenance) I've posted something that subsequently disappeared. Did refresh - no good. Closed and re-opened browser - no good. Added another post to the same thread and then the previous posts reappeared.

Then I went to another forum, returned to the previous one (via the links, not by using "Back" ) and all the recent posts in my topic had disappeared!

It's all sorted. The slave database was behind for a while, that's all.

This morning the Gassing Station seems to have multiple personalities. About one page in five looks completely up to date, the others show messages up to the early hours of this morning, or no messages at all, or just 'sorry can't find that thread'. Refeshing the same page a few times can show all these variations. (A similar problem happened a few months ago but then seemed to have been fixed.)

Ted - I fear that the slave db is causing some grief. On SP&L the number of posts and last poster shown keeps flipping +/-1 and the threads sometimes show the most recent post and sometimes not. See also my post about the overtaking thread on SP&L ... which is an example - Streaky

Still getting the problems today - I have allowed several hours for the posts to appear. The main index to the fora looks to be out of synch with the subjects page below them and the number of pages available in a thread does not always match the number of pages the thread thinks it has - though the last page always seems to be blank.

Hmm. Wonder if this will appear?

I've been posting stuff today and it's not appeared , both at home and here at work - I think I've made the same response on the same thread three times and it's not appeared, so I'm gonna look more of a tit than usual. My Pie and Piston pages shows the same stuff it showed this morning with no contributions since 3.24amish ...
