I don't care if photo bucket automatically reduces the quality after the fact, but most phones can take a photo that's over 2mb nowadays. I don't want to have to jump on the laptop, go to Google photos, download them, reduce size, upload back to PH...

The upload image facility is only at the 'beta' stage.

I'm sure the finished product will be tweaked.

sorry just double checking, are you talking about images as in the ones uploaded through thumbsnap on forums or the when creating a new advert on classifieds?

On the forum. It would make it easier to keep reader's cars and the like up to date without having to resize or upload to flikr first. Or if you can directly link to Google photos with shareable links, I never seem to be able to get it to work.
But yeah easier photo upload on the forums please.

Yeah, needs to accept any phone or normal digi cam photos (like, anything short of raw) and then resize on upload to say 2mb standard size.

I'm talking about on the forum too. But if the issue also exists for the classifieds the same applies there.

When posting pics from my phone I just take a screenshot of the image, crop that then upload it. It's a nice quick way of reducing the 6mb photos my phone takes.

Thanks for the tip!

Is there any quick way of knowing if you’ve cropped to under the 2mb limit?

Email it to yourself and see what the attachment size it

If it's under 2mb it's likely that most done that will be

PS I agree it's a good tip although I'm not sure about the crop bit

On android it gives you the option to crop immediately after the screen shot.
