Mignon ban and thread removal
Discussion
Hi
Is it possible for someone to explain why Mignon has been banned?
I know he can be a little abrasive but he has to be about the most knowledgable engine guy on the whole forum and will be a great loss.
Someone posted on the engines forum asking where he was. A reply indicated that he had been banned. Many other replies also asked for him to be brought back.
This whole thread has now been deleted with no indication why. I could understand it being closed if the Mod who closed it gave a closing reason. Just deleting it is rude to say the least.
I've contributed to this forum for many years and am not best pleased that comments i make can be discarded so lightly.

Whilst undoubtedly knowledgeable, the way in which this knowledge was imparted in posts was often highly offensive and repeatedly broke the forum rules. As Mignon he had a series of warnings and temporary bans which seem to go unheeded, and his previous profile is a litany of warnings, bans and ultimately a full ban. The fact that he was given a second chance as a returning banned user should have prompted him to moderate his behaviour, but it didn't.The forum has rules to keep the quality of content high and provide a welcoming place for discussion. Everyone agrees to abide by these rules and if they don't can't expect to continue to contribute. Dave has had more than his fair share of chances, and it appears was unwilling to change his ways.
The previous thread questioning his disappearance was removed because someone had chosen to post a rude and offensive message received from Mignon.
