Looking at cars in the classifieds, if I click back one page to back the listings, I get the page 404 error. This is happening all the time. frown

Hi ianwayne, can you please help me reproduce this one?

So I'm running latest chrome on a macbook and my journey is:
- From PistonHeads home page > https://www.pistonheads.com/
- Click on Search button (right hand side Cars for Sale widget)
- On the Search Result Page I click on the first advert
- From the Advert Detail Page I click the browser back button

By following the steps above I can't reproduce the issue, would you be able to provide me the steps on how you are able to consistently reproduce it on your side please?

Search for TVR Chimaera. There are 80 at present. Put them in the order lowest price first. Click on any car you like for details (it happens on any car I select)

After reading details, press top left arrow on my Microsoft Edge browser (i.e. back 1 page), I get the 404 error page. It happens every time. Trying to select the previous page to that with search results (right click on 'back' arrow and select results page) returns a 404 error too.

Just reproduced the error message with Porsche Boxster 986s so it's not a make / model within the classifieds error.

Thank you so much for taking your time to provide this. I can confirm we can now reproduce this issue and will make sure this gets addressed.

While not ideal a workaround would be to use another browser other than Edge or Internet Explorer as they are the only ones where reproducing this issue is currently possible.

For clarity sake the affected browsers currently make up for less than 5% of the traffic which will reflect on the priority of this being sorted.

Many thanks again for helping us reproduce this issue, we will keep you posted on the progress.

It wasn't an issue before changing the make up of the website. Edge is built into Windows 10 and no other website produces this error that I know of. frown

When I navigating pages within Pistonheads including articles, I can go back pages as requested without errors. It is only when looking at vehicles in the classified listings that going back 1 page returns the 404 error. I would suggest it's a database interrogation error of some kind.

It's borked again. Getting https://www.pistonheads.com/error/notfound about 50% of the time when navigating around the forums. The hamsters need a remap and a bigger intercooler. Maybe some Tesco Momentum for improved performance and efficiency too. hehe

Yep, same for me, every time I go back a page in the forums ( but even more annoying in the classifieds) I get a picture of a Fiat 500 and “error 500”

Chrome on IOS, the back button doesn’t take me back to the previous page, it takes me to a page I was reading much earlier, if I go forwards it doesn’t take me back to the page I was at before I went back if that makes any sense at all?

I've fixed this issue in our development environment. Will get a fix out for you asap.

It won't fix the non-classifieds issues. If someone who is having a problem outside classifieds can you please let us know your browser, OS, and repeatable steps to reproduce the issue so we can look into it. thumbup

I get it in the forums in Safari on iOS.

It after making a post, returning to the topic and then trying to go back. I presumed it was to stop the double posting that you regularly see?

I've put out a fix for this. Let me know if it still happens for you, but I've tested it and you should be able to click back to your heart's delight.
