Disappearing posts

A few of my posts have disappeared recently. Am I being censored or is my phone playing up and not actually posting them ?

Unless they flout the posting rules, have they been part of a thread that’s been cleaned up by the mods?

Very common for a cleanup to include deleting decent posts to make the whole cleanup work.

I try not to flout whenever possible, but they could have been removed by careless pruning I suppose. It just keeps making me think I am having a senior moment and did I really post it or just imagine that I did

I know the feeling! I had a few deleted a while back as part of a big pruning session and questioned my own sanity!

At 56 you do start to wonder!

If you flout the rules you should get an email explaining why your post was deleted (check junk folder)
It's not so much careless pruning, but more lack of facilities that you won't be informed why your posts have been removed as part of a clean up.

I know it will probably test your memory, but can you remember which thread you posted in & if I don't forget I'll take a look

I found one of them (I could have sworn it wasn't there earlier), so it could just be me. Don't worry, I don't think it was anything of earth shattering importance anyway.

Threads that are in the wrong section will be moved / normally have a moved sticker next to them.

Some will be merged into existing similar threads.

Ones that break the rules will be deleted as with any forum.

The only real occasion when you won't get a mail from a thread deletion is when the thread has had a prune, we do try to prune carefully and leave as much the good posts in tact. There are however occasions when we have to heavily prune in order to get the thread back onto topic.

Assuming you mean the ‘45th President......’ thread, that’s still there and open for business.

Thanks. That's good as I find it quite amusing. It had definitely disappeared last night though, maybe for a clean up but glad it's back..

It definitely did not disappear for a clean up last night. It was there all the time.
